Sell your vintage TMNT toys

Heroes in a half shell: Playmates' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Hero Turtles, if you grew up on the UK cartoon) ran from 1988 right through the 90s, and the line was enormous: hundreds of figures, vans, blimps and a Technodrome with an eye on top. I buy all of it. Send a few photos for a free, no-obligation cash offer. Most people hear back within a day.

What I'm looking for

  • Figures from 1988 through the late 90s, the earlier the better
  • Early "soft-head" variants of the first figures
  • The Turtle Party Wagon and other vehicles
  • The Technodrome and Sewer Lair playsets
  • Carded figures, any series
  • Weapons trays, accessories and loose parts
  • …and whatever else survived: loose Turtles, stray weapons, spares and job lots all welcome. Incomplete is fine.

How much are vintage TMNT toys worth?

Turtles were made in colossal numbers, so the value in a TMNT collection is all about which figures you have and how early they are. The 1988 first wave, especially the "soft-head" variants collectors hunt, leads the line, and carded figures from any early series do well. From there the line sprawls gloriously, and some of the later, stranger figures had short runs that make them scarcer than the classics.

The big set pieces hold their own too: a Party Wagon with its flip-out doors intact, a Sewer Lair, or the Technodrome in any state of completeness. And because every figure came with a tray of tiny weapons that scattered instantly, complete accessories are rare enough to move an offer on their own. In the end the only number worth anything is what you're actually paid. Send a few photos and I'll tell you what I'd pay, no obligation.

TMNT questions

Which Turtles count as vintage?

The Playmates line from 1988 through the late 90s: the figures that came with the original cartoon (sold as "Hero Turtles" here in the UK). Later relaunches and the modern movie toys aren't what I'm after, but if you're not sure which yours are, a photo settles it in seconds.

All the little weapons are missing. Is that a problem?

No. Every Turtle came with a tray of tiny weapons, and almost every tray got tipped into a toy box and scattered by 1993. Loose figures without accessories are completely normal and well worth selling. If you do find a bag of little brown weapons, include it in the photos.
